Adrian Zwahlen (Erfinder)

Inventor, visionary and entrepreneur

Vision, goals and solutions for drinking water.
I grew up by the stream in a small farming village - water has been with me all my life. Hydropower plants have been at the center of my job for the past thirty years and have been at the center of my entrepreneurial activities and water. In 2006, the idea of the mobile power box grew - a small hydropower plant prefabricated in a large container. In 2008, it was registered as a patent, in 2012, it became an EU patent. In 2008 and 2013, at the inventors' fair in Geneva, many discussions with visitors from Third World countries and emerging economies raised my awareness of the drinking water problem. The biggest problem is not electrical energy, but clean water that can be used as drinking water. Inadequate provision of hygienic drinking water and sanitary facilities to the population significantly hinders the social and economic development of the urban population throughout Africa. The aim of the vision is the sustainable supply of rural areas with hygienic drinking water hotspots. Among other things, this should make a direct contribution to improving the health situation. The target groups for the time being are the urban population as well as hospitals and schools in Kenya. The individual steps include immediate measures to set up and operate a long-term functioning drinking water supply. Since 2013, I have been driving the development of water hotspots. From the vision, a cooperation with a Swiss based in Kenya was created in 2017. Soon the startup will emerge from the cooperation: the company Clean Water Company AG with the project Rongo 1, 2017.
